I decided that when I grow up, I want to help people via better policy making. I studied audio-visual media law in Germany and then practised in Brussels and Strasbourg. Later I was involved in foreign policy and cultural diplomacy in the Europe and Middle East regions when I worked at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN.
As my interest in law diminished, I turned to policy making for nutrition and food security – for example to initiatives around “farm-to-table” and “slow food”. I started attending international conferences on the topics and spending more and more time at my family’s vegetable garden or markets and talking to farmers and agricultural experts.
I believe that conscious nutrition prevents diseases and maintains our health. It does not only improve our own or our family’s way of living but also enables producers to make conscious decisions and make a positive impact on the environment.
